Alright, trying to stay patient.

This past week I have just spent my days waiting for the nights and the nights waiting for the days. Now even though we have a scheduled date for the c-section I would still rather go into labor on my own just my body realizes what the heck is going on! If I do go into labor on my own they will still proceed in doing a c-section.  Ryan and I did go walk two hours around Costco and Debbye took me to Ikea and Park Meadows to walk all day. Just to let you know, when they say walking induces labor they don’t mention that this is not “normal walking,” it hurts a lot!  Your back hurts from all the weight in the front, your pelvis hurts from all the pressure from the baby, and  your knees and feet hurt from trying waddle your big butt around!

On Saturday night Ryan and I decided to stay in and watch some movies. While watching Braveheart, I started to get consistant contractions so we timed them for 45 min and decided to call the doctor. She told us to go ahead and go on into the hospital. We were so excited! We got all the bags put in the car and were off. It just so happened to be snowing what seemed like pure ice!!! We were about 5 minutes away from the hospital waiting at a stoplight when all of sudden we got rear ended!!!! My car was a beast and we barely felt a little nudge, thank God we were all safe. We pulled over and Ryan and to calm down before getting out of the car so he wouldn’t beat whoever was behind us! I called the police and within minutes I was surround by firemen. They checked me out and sent us on our way to the hospital since we were ok. I prayed for the guy who hit us because I’m pretty sure he felt like the worse person ever hitting a pregnant lady on her way to the hospital! We got to the hospital and they got me all hooked up and quickly picked up Liam’s little heart beat…it was perfect and I was so relieved to hear it! Though, he hated the monitors on my belly. He kept trying to push them off. They checked me and I was 2cm dilated and 50% effaced which I have been since last tuesday. I was still having a few contractions but they were starting to become very inconsistant and not strong enough. They kept me there for 3 hours and even had me walk the halls but……nothing progressed and they decided to send us home. I was so disappointed I really thought we were going to meet him that night. I allowed myself to be sad that night but knew that I needed to have a different attitude in the morning just to get through!

That being said,  we are still in good spirits and still very very excited. They told me that it is normal to feel less movement but Liam is still is active as ever! In fact, so much so that sometimes it makes me a little nauseous when I feel like he is going bust right out of my belly!

Let’s plan on the next update containing a picture of Liam instead of me!

Me miserably walking the halls nursing my aching back…one day I will be glad we took this picture haha!
