How the heck is it already 24 weeks???? I still can’t believe how fast time is moving! While it makes me little nervous because I still feel like there is so much to do before little Liam arrives, I am so happy that the time is nearing when I will be able to see his precious little face!
I’m so sorry for the absence from posting over the past few weeks, Ryan and I don’t know how to sit still anymore! We have been working like crazy and staying very busy. Hopefully things will start to slow down a bit in the next coming weeks.
Alright, so I had my 24 week check up last Tuesday. We had decided early on in my pregnancy that we wanted to get the glucose test done sooner rather than later (most women wait till 28 weeks) so Tuesday was the day. I quickly drank that nasty sugary drink they give to you and it made me sick sick sick! Also didn’t help that I told the nurse that I dont need the rubber tied around my arm and to pump my fist when drawing my blood, but someone didn’t listen to me and I was fortunate to see my blood squirt every… twice! That did not help with the queasiness I was already feeling from the glucose drink! Aside from that, I have somehow only gained 5lbs, which after talking to my cousin seems to be normal among my dad’s side of the family! Not complaining!!! Liam is growing perfectly and my belly is measuring perfectly as well. Minus the three little stretch marks that showed up on my lower stomach this week BOO! His heart beat was a little higher this time because of all the sugar but still very healthy! I left that day traumatized and stayed sick all day. Kind of worried me I was going to fail the test and they were going to call and tell me I had gestational diabetes. Alas, I received a phone call the next day saying that I passed and would not have to take another test for it WOOHOO!
As for life lately with Liam, he started getting the hiccups which over the weeks have gotten much stronger! He LOVES the sound of Ryan’s voice and goes nuts everyday when I get home from work and he hears Ryan! He loves comic book movies and I am not taking him to another one until he is living outside of me. He literally kicked and moved throughout the entire movies of Spiderman and Batman. I was exhausted when we left the theater from him moving around sooo much! He still loves Mexican food and makes me eat around three times a week.
I cant believe there is only four more weeks left in this trimester! Seems very unreal, but at the same time so exciting. Baby things have started to pour in and sometimes I sit in his soon to be room and just imagine what life is going to be like when the day finally comes that he will be in there with us.
Also, a lot of our friends have recently announced their pregnancies! We are so happy for all of you, Swansons’s, Nickell’s, Jackson’s, and Kruse’s! We are so excited that Liam will have some instant friends 🙂
Oh, and I cut my hair. It was time.
