Last week we left Liam with the grandparents so Ryan’s employer could take us to Devil’s Thumb Ranch just past Winter Park.. It was so nice to have some time to slow down since life is constantly fast paced. It was also nice to have some one on one time with my man. After you have you children you don’t realize how much that time together is really needed until you get away. Our room was exceptional and had a beautiful mountain view from the covered patio! It was filled with colorful and rustic details that felt so stylish and yet so cozy. There was also an amazing cast iron bathtub 🙂

We got a private and very detailed tour of the entire property, which is really neat by the way. We also had a chance to go up to the stables and mingle with some of the livestock. I loved the mini Donkey named Lucy!!

Ryan had an afternoon meeting he had to attend so I got to treat myself to a massage, a glass of wine, and some aroma therapy. It. Was. Wonderful.

That night we had drinks and dinner at the onsite restaurant Heck’s with Ryan’s colleagues. Truly some very sweet and well educated individuals. After you talk to a toddler all day it is nice to have an intellectual and cultural conversation every now and again!  We then preceded to gather outside (with a few bottles of wine) and sat around the fire roasting marshmallows for s’mores and watched the sun set behind the mountains. Such a great evening.

The next day Ryan went zip lining with his team so I had a chance to talk a beautiful walk and sit on our covered patio. So refreshing to have some peace and quiet. Though, there was still a large part of me that couldn’t wait for those little arms to squeeze my neck when we got back!
