In a short time Ryan and I will be parents of a little boy.

For our reveal we decided to find out with our families and a few friends. We had initially planned on doing a firework but with all the fires going on in Colorado we had to come up with something else quick. My husband being the smarty he is, came up with the idea of a confetti cannon and built one himself. We had prepared both blue and pink confetti. As soon as everyone arrived (and we  got my brother on face time) we all gathered in the Ryan’s parents backyard and Pj took the cannon inside to load it. He opened the envelope that the doctor gave us and it said “Congrats its a boy!” He then brought the cannon outside and we all counted down. All I remember is everyone began to cheer as I looked up and saw blue flying every where. I turned into my husband’s loving arms and we both cried tears of joy. It was such a surreal moment I know neither one of us will ever forget it.

We were so surprised and so happy to find out we were having a baby boy. After the initial shock (we really thought it was a girl) I felt very proud to be carrying a boy, especially a McCarthy boy! Just stronger for some reason, I can’t really explain it. We have decided to name him Liam Michael McCarthy. We had actually chosen that name before we even got married so we are excited and ready to use it! When we first found out we were pregnant we both thought it would be a boy but as the weeks went on we both changed and thought girl! But I should  have known, it is just my lot in life to be surrounded by boys, and that is something you won’t ever hear me complaining about!

Thank you so much to everyone who came and for your love and support. Also, a special thanks to Audrey and Brian Brooks who came and captured it all in photos!

Now, time to prepare for our little Liam! Let the fun begin 🙂
