Memorial Day Weekend. | The McCarthy Days

We haven’t even been in our house a month but it already feels like home. Yes we don’t have anything on the walls and yes there are still boxes out, but we are so happy here!! We have a huge mess in the basement and garage to still organize and the yard, well it needs some major TLC. I know that will all come with time and this is fun part of making a house into a home. After we got back from our mini vacay we got right back to work on our home.

The previous owners had invested a lot of money in these container store shelving in all the closets but they were not conducive to what we wanted. We were planning on just giving them away until Ryan came up with idea to put them in the extra space in the back of our garage. The perfect start to getting organized. I absolutely love how functional this will be for garage storage! We made a dent in organizing the basement but still a long way to go.

It wouldn’t be a Memorial Day weekend without some Cooke birthday fun!

My dad is such a rockstar bowler. Has his own shoes and ball!

We have made it a priority to start going back to church so Liam wanted a picture before he went to Sunday School. Melts my heart!

After church we have decided that will be our yard work time. We have big plans for our landscaping in the back and front…but it is not going to be happening this year. I saw that Lowes was having a sale on mulch over the holiday weekend so we bought 20 bags to give the front yard a freshened up look.

And my little man is such a good helper!! He loves working hard with Daddy!

On Memorial Day we had the Cooke’s and our parents over for a little BBQ fun. We loved our town home but it was not the greatest for entertaining so I think that is one of the biggest reason we love this home. So easy to have people over!
