First Comes Love, Then Comes Marriage, Then Comes….

A BABY!!!!!!!!

Yes, Ryan and I are having a baby!

I thought for a long time all of the clever ways to post that we are expecting our first child, but nothing was more exciting than to just come out and say it. We are going to be parents and we are beside ourselves with happiness!

Baby McCarthy is due November 22, 2012. Thanksgiving day! I know most babies are not born on their due date but I find it only fitting that our child be born on a national holiday. A mother can wish right?

I’m currently 12 weeks along and the little babe is healthy and has a very strong heartbeat. I have been fortunate to not experience any morning sickness! Just had to push through a few headaches and some very sleepy days. I crave anything sour or citrus. Lemons and sour patch kids are must. For the most part I have tried to eat very healthy but have not been able to even think of chicken for almost two months now. Very sad about that!

Ryan and I have both mutually agreed that we will be happy to have a boy or girl (find out July 5th). It is very easy to become overwhelmed with all the “stuff” that comes with preparing for baby. However we are trying to focus on the important things. We pray over the baby everyday that he or she already feels the love of Jesus. I try to read often about brain development and the importance of just talking with your baby as often as you can. It’s hard to fathom what our life will look like but I know that we are both very excited for what is to come.

I have seen Ryan as a worship pastor, a musician, web designer, a photographer, an artist, a husband, but I think seeing him as a father will be the greatest of all. I know he is going to make a wonderful dad!

Sometimes I wake up and this still feels like a dream, but then I rub my belly and I feel God’s love and blessing in our life.  Words are literally unable give that feeling justice.

I’m going to be a mother……. just wow.
